Call for Papers FUZZ-IEEE Special Session "Advances in fuzzy modeling and control for mobile robots"

The use of fuzzy techniques is of great advantage for mobile robots operating especially in uncertain or hazardous environments, or for rescue robots operating in disaster areas. The features of fuzzy logic make it particularly suitable especially for problems posed by autonomous robot operation, Fuzzy techniques in mobile robotics are of growing interest not only in low level control but also in the fields of
  • higher control levels
  • pattern recognition
  • vision-based control
  • localization
  • mapping
  • motion planning
  • navigation
  • obstacle avoidance

This special session includes papers with new research ideas, methods and recent advances and applications, that are related to fuzzy modeling and control for mobile robotics. Papers on, but not limited to, the following topics together with classical and advanced fuzzy techniques are welcome:
  • Autonomous Vehicles
  • Multi-robot systems
  • Rehabilitation Robotics
  • Aerial Robotics
  • Underwater Robotics
  • Multi-legged robots
  • Wheeled vehicles

We encourage submissions of papers, which have not been published or submitted to any other conference, about theoretical advances in these core areas as well as papers which deal with some practical insights resulting from experiments or implementations.

The same deadline as for the regular papers to be submitted to the Fuzz IEEE 2015 will be observed. However, the potential contributors are requested to send at their earliest convenience (November 9, 2014) an e-mail message, addressed to rub.palm@t-online.de confirming the intent to submit a paper and giving its tentative title and a list of the authors. Submitted papers must comply with the Fuzz IEEE 2015 guidelines for submission. Papers submitted to this special session will go through the normal reviewing process. The accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.

Important Dates

  • Paper submission February 8, 2015
  • Notification of acceptance for papers March 23, 2015
  • Camera-ready paper submission April 21, 2015
  • Early registration deadline April 23, 2015
  • Conference August 2-5, 2015
