The Semantic and Social Media Adaptation and Personalization (SMAP) initiative was founded during the summer of 2006 in an effort to discuss the state-of-the-art, recent advances and future perspectives for semantic and social media adaptation. After 10 successful workshops –in Athens, London, Prague, San Sebastian, Limassol, Vigo, Luxembourg, Bayonne, Corfu, and Trento, the SMAP workshop series has consolidated as a reference event in order to discuss about the newest advances in the field, including a 2-days single main track of high-quality scientific papers. The 11th SMAP workshop will be held in Thessaloniki, Greece at October 20th and 21th, 2016 and it will be hosted by the South East European Research Centre (SEERC) (http://www.seerc.org).
